Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on how remote bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and filings work with D&D Enterprises.
Do I need to be in the Camden area to work with you?
No. Bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, reporting and tax preparation are all handled remotely, so we work with businesses in all 50 states. Local clients in South Jersey and Philadelphia can also meet in person.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
Plans are a flat monthly fee based on the volume of transactions, the number of accounts and the services you need. We quote after a short discovery call so the price matches your business, not a generic package.
What accounting software do you use?
QuickBooks Online most often, but we work in the system you already have, or help you choose and set one up.
Can you take over from my current bookkeeper or accountant?
Yes. We review the existing books, clean up anything that needs it, and take over the monthly work without a gap.
Are my financial records secure?
Bank feeds and software are connected through read-only, encrypted access. We never need your online banking password.
How quickly do you respond?
Same business day for most questions, by text, email or phone.
Do you work with new businesses?
Yes. We handle the formation filings, set up the books correctly from day one, and keep you compliant as you grow.
How often will my books be updated?
Transactions are recorded as they come through your bank feeds, and every account is reconciled at month end. You are never looking at numbers that are months out of date.
How far behind can my books be?
There is no limit. We have rebuilt multiple years of books from statements. The further behind you are, the more important it is to start now.
Which version of QuickBooks do you work with?
Mainly QuickBooks Online. If you are on QuickBooks Desktop or another platform, ask; we can usually help or manage a move to Online.
Do you run payroll yourself or through a provider?
Both options are available. We can process payroll directly or coordinate a provider such as QuickBooks Payroll or Gusto, whichever fits your business.
Which states do you file in?
Any state where your business is required to collect, including multi-state and marketplace sellers.
How often do I get reports?
Monthly, with a fuller quarterly review. Many clients also get a short year-end package for their tax filing.
Do you file the return or just prepare it?
Either. We prepare and file directly, or we organize everything for a CPA of your choosing. Donovan has worked alongside CPAs and EAs for years.
Is consulting only for existing bookkeeping clients?
No. It works best when we know your books, but standalone engagements for a specific decision are welcome.
Should I form an LLC or an S corporation?
It depends on your income, your plans and your tolerance for paperwork. We talk through the trade-offs with your actual numbers before anything is filed.
Still have a question?
A fifteen-minute call is enough to tell you what it will take. No pressure, no obligation.
